Crow, a character creation.
So there I was, modeling a helmet and now needing a character to wear it.
In the past I already had a idea of a smugler character and now I want to combine the two idea’s.
I already had a idea about how she should be, a smuglers life isnt easy and very dangerous. So she would be a tough character.
Facing danger every day and most of her clients are not the easy type, otherwise they would use the post office to get there stuf off the planet ![]()
Add the competition who are not shy for some deadly violence if they have to for some valuable load and the authority’s who shoot first and ask questions later,
and you get a picture of the life she leads wich reflects on her.
Considering all that, she has to be a tough one. The “I dont do touchy feely, I do ouchy bleedy” type. She is a loner, so she handels most of her cargo and repairs
on her ship by herself. I bet you already form a picture in your mind by now.
There are two characteristics she must have. She must be muscled from the hard work and absolute have a scar from all the dangerous meetings with the law and competition.
Also a characteristic face wil suit her, and becouse I love characteristic faces
Well we have a pretty good idea now about how she looks like, and now she needs a name.
This is the hard part, she needs a name that reflects her work and personality and has to be easy to remember for clients.
Also it will not be her real name for security reasons, she dont want to be traceble.
So playing around with this, rather black and shady work, being a pilot and not the easyest to handle, it sudenly struck me……..Crow was born.
WOOOT, now we have a character with a name.
Well, now we have a character with a name on paper, time to put that into a 3D character.
I like to make my own 3D models, but I am not planing to invent the wheel for the second time. So for Crow I use Victoria 4 from DAZ/Studio.
She is a great figure to work with and with the Morps++ packet you have endles posibilety’s.
I started with her scar. Since those models come undamaged, I had to figure out that first and see if it was posible.
The scar runs over her left eye and will be clearly visible. To do this I had to use Bump and Displacement, it is easyer and better to control than making a morph.
So I created a bump and displacement map and started to fidle around with the settings in Poser.
After getting good results, I added 2 more scars to add more drama to her face and fidled around with the face morphs.

Ok, we have a start, and it looks as a good one. However I am still not happy with her face yet. She still looks to much Victoria 4.
After Googleing and browsing the net (I use the internet a lot for inspiration, great medium) I found pictures of the Terminator movie.
And what can I say, Sarah Conner (Linda Hamilton) has the looks where I am after.
I dont want a copy of her but try to catch that tough lady look she has, with good results if I may say myself.

WOOHOO, Crow now has a face
*UPDATE*
For the skin of Crow I used the skin textures from Alice 2.0 made by Aery Soul. I realy love there stuf, you find a link to there site under usefull links.
I added the eye brows in PS since one is partial damaged becouse of the scar and to give her face a bit more accent.
I also added the collor to the scar and made the bump and displacement maps in PS.
Now Crow needs a body.
As we know she is a tough one and do’s heavy work, so she will get a muscled body.
This is pretty straight forward, just some dialing on the Morph++ body shape dials will do the trick.
I dont need to put too much time into this since later on she will get a flight suit wich will cover most of her body.
Below you see the end result, I gave her some basic clothing wich will later be replaced and made a background to put her inside her ship.
